Life challenges me all the time. Every second of every day. If life was easy, then what would the point be?!?!? Some major obstacles of my life are making the right choices to get through everyday. Who to hang out with, when to do things, how much is too much? All daily questions I ask myself. I, luckily, have life pretty darn easy.

I agree with Jacqulelyn, here at rabun gap we have a very easy life. When we think about the next time we are going to eat we think about what it is. There are people all over the world that think about if the will eat or not. I think we all need to start being more thankful for the many things we have in are lives.

Life is challenging. Some are lucky enough to have it handed to them on a silver platter. They never really feel the full force of it because it is on someone else’s shoulders. I don’t like to complain about my life because I am greatful that I am not living on the streets, but my life hasn’t been the easiest. I am thankful everyday for the gift of being able to attend Rabun Gap. I have wanted to come here since I was ten. Now I struggle with schoolwork, schedules, activities and drama. I think it all goes back to how much we need God to help us balance our lives and give us strength.

For me there are challenges in life but not that much. Sometimes i will get a hard homework assignment, or a bad grade, but that is just about as bad as it gets. For other people who are not as lucky as i am, life itself is a challenge. Just staying alive from day to day. For me there are two kinds of challenges in life. Physical challenges and mental ones. Things like homework are physical challenges. Things like starvation, greed, and pollution. It makes me ask how can we as a human race pollute our planet knowingly, and not change our habits? How can we sit here in America throwing away tons of food away while people in other parts of the world starve to death? As Mr.Wass reminds us at lunch throwing away food that we could eat is like ” taking our money and throwing it in the trash can.”It is more than that though. Mr.Renolds said in chapel once that “25,000 people die of starvation everyday.” How can we let that happen? We did not get ice cream this friday because we did not meet our goal in food waste. Our goal was 600 lbs! We passed that. Just think about things like that the next time you dump over half your food into the trash can. In a nutshell those are the challenges for me in life.

Ok, that was kind of negative. But i agree with tate we do need to be thankful for the things we have, instead of complaining about little things that do not even matter in the long run.

Personally, I think that life is awesome and I just don’t get the people that complain about little things, like I didn’t get any ice cream, or my geography teacher gave me too much home work,( ” hint hint wink wink”), or the gas prices are too high, or I don’t have enough money. What really burns me up is when people say, ” what can we do about it?” Well, I think I can answer that question. THINK LIKE A GEOGRAPHER!!! Right now your probably sitting there thinking what the heck is this boy taking about, well think about it this way. If you ride your bike to work or school every morning, you would cut down on your gas usage therefor you would have more money therefor you could by more ice cream. I have no idea how that would help you with geography home work but I think you get the point. And that’s just one of many things that could make your life so much easier. So stop complaining and start thinking. Is your glass half empty or half full?

I love life on somedays, but yet on others I don’t quite know what to do with my life. I remember when I was a kid, I would always say I wanted to be a vet but now I want to be a pilot for the US Air Force. Who knows in the next year or two, that could change again.

One challenge I can think of is not knowing. I guess what I am saying is that one thing you did on Monday could have comepletely changed your life by Tuesday. Not knowing is the worst. When my mom was sick, we didn’t know anything. A doctor had miss diagnosed her and the medicine she was on turned out to be slowly killing her. And not knowing that something as simple as her being allergic to wheat is just horrible. Not knowing what will happen in life is definitly an obstacle in life. Life is a challenging role to play.

This is what being a teenager is about! I had;quote Rosie, ” had life handed to me on a silver platter”. So, growing up was easy. But when I became a boading student, it like, your away from you parents, cool, now your on your own. It changes you, and challenges you. Being a teenager in life is like trial and error, your going to have to mess up to find the anwser. Its just an awkard in between time of trying to find out who you are and what your point of being here is.
